About Alrock Adventures: our family story
Founded in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Alrock Adventures brings together Jonathon’s riding and mechanical experience with Tiane’s creativity and organisation. Riding dirt tracks, camping and exploring with our children have always been part of our family life.
That is the feeling we want to share: time outside, a good group of people and a ride that stays with you after you get home. From a first day on dirt to a multi-day trip, the right adventure starts with understanding the rider.
We now offer rides across Far North Queensland, the Scenic Rim and Victoria’s High Country. Every tour has its own terrain and requirements, so we help you choose an experience that fits.
The people you’ll deal with
Jonathon — Jonno on the trail
Jonno started riding at three and grew up racing motocross around Mount Isa. After years in mining and raising a family, adventure riding drew him back to exploring on two wheels. He brings practical mechanical knowledge and a lifelong interest in bikes to preparing the fleet and leading every tour personally.
Tiane — behind the adventure
Tiane looks after the creative and organisational side of Alrock: marketing, design, bookings and day-to-day operations. From the first enquiry to the details before departure, she helps riders understand the trip and get ready for it.

A real person leading
Jonno leads the ride and gets to know your experience. Cardo helmet comms let him share directions, hazard calls and riding tips along the way.
The right ride for you
Intro to Dirt is for building confidence. Sundown, Cape York and the High Country ask more of your off-road skills. We’ll help you choose honestly.
Less gear to organise
Our tour packages include a DR-Z400E and fuel, with equipment listed clearly on each page. High Country riders bring their own sleeping bag and cold-weather clothing.
At least a learner motorcycle licence is required for our guided tours. We also assess the experience and preparation needed for each trip. Small groups mean a more personal day, but remote riding still calls for care, fitness and sensible decisions.
From your first dirt day to a bigger adventure
Scenic Rim and Sundown
Start with a guided Intro to Dirt day from Croftby, or take on a two-day Sundown adventure when you have off-road experience. Explore Intro to Dirt.
