By booking a DRZ400 rental with Alrock Adventures, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking and Payment

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all DRZ400 rental bookings. The remaining balance is due on motorcycle pick-up. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any unforeseen cancellations, changes, or disruptions.

2. Rider Eligibility

All riders must hold a valid motorcycle licence.

International riders must provide:

a valid motorcycle licence

a passport

an International Rider’s Permit if their licence is not in English

Only the rider named on the booking may operate the motorcycle.

Alrock Adventures reserves the right to refuse rental if a rider is deemed inexperienced, unsafe, or unsuitable for the motorcycle or intended riding conditions.

3. Security Bond

A $2,000 pre-authorisation bond is required per motorcycle at pick-up. This is a hold on your credit card, not a charge.

The bond will be released after the motorcycle is returned, subject to there being no damage, loss, late return, cleaning fees, refuelling charges, fines, or other additional costs. Bank processing times may vary.

4. Rider Responsibility

The renter is fully responsible for the motorcycle for the entire rental period.

The renter is liable for any loss, theft, damage, recovery costs, or repair costs arising during the hire period, including but not limited to:

crash damage

water damage or submersion

misuse or negligent operation

damage caused during river crossings or off-road use

excessive wear and tear beyond normal use, including tyres, clutch, chain, sprockets, plastics, controls, and accessories

Any applicable costs may be deducted from the bond, and where costs exceed the bond amount, the renter remains liable for the balance.

5. Use of the Motorcycle

The motorcycle must not be used:

by any person not listed on the booking

under the influence of alcohol or drugs

for racing, timed events, competitions, burnouts, or stunt riding

on beaches, in saltwater, or in any environment likely to cause avoidable corrosion or damage

in any unlawful, dangerous, or reckless manner

Riders must comply with all Australian road rules, local laws, and land access requirements at all times.

6. Protective Gear and Safety

Approved protective gear must be worn at all times while riding, including a helmet, boots, gloves, and suitable riding clothing.

Alrock Adventures may refuse to release the motorcycle if, in our opinion, the rider does not have appropriate safety gear or is not fit to ride safely.

7. Off-Road and Remote Area Riding

Off-road riding, remote area travel, and water crossings are undertaken entirely at the rider’s own risk.

Alrock Adventures is not liable for delays, breakdowns, route interruptions, or incidents occurring in remote areas.

Any towing, recovery, transport, accommodation, freight, or rescue costs resulting from breakdown, accident, bogging, water damage, or bike retrieval are the sole responsibility of the renter.

8. Fuel, Cleaning, and Return Condition

The motorcycle must be returned with the same fuel level as provided at pick-up. Refuelling charges may apply if it is returned with less fuel.

The motorcycle must be returned in clean and reasonable condition. Excessively dirty motorcycles may incur a cleaning fee.

9. Rental Period and Late Returns

The rental period is agreed at the time of booking.

Late returns may incur additional charges, including extra daily hire fees. If the motorcycle is not returned on time and no prior arrangement has been made, Alrock Adventures reserves the right to take further action to recover the motorcycle and any associated losses.

10. Cancellations

The 25% deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellations 14 days or more before the rental start date: no additional charges apply.
Cancellations less than 14 days before the rental start date:
→ The remaining balance may be charged if the booking cannot be re-filled.
If the cancelled booking is rebooked, no additional charges will apply beyond the deposit.

11. Breakdown, Mechanical Issues, and Replacement Bikes

If a mechanical issue occurs, Alrock Adventures will provide reasonable assistance where possible. However, we are not obligated to provide a replacement motorcycle, reimburse accommodation, transport, lost ride time, or other associated costs.

12. Fines and Charges

The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, tolls, penalties, infringements, and related charges incurred during the rental period.

A $50 administration fee may apply for processing unpaid fines or infringements.

13. Liability Waiver

Motorcycle riding involves inherent risks, including the risk of injury, death, property damage, environmental hazards, remote area conditions, other road users, wildlife, and changing terrain.

By proceeding with your booking, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree that you participate entirely at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alrock Adventures, its owners, staff, and representatives are not liable for any injury, death, loss, damage, delay, or expense arising from your rental or use of the motorcycle.

14. Right to Refuse Rental

Alrock Adventures reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or terminate any rental at any time for safety reasons, non-compliance, inappropriate conduct, suspected impairment, or breach of these Terms & Conditions.

15. Acceptance

By completing your booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Rental Terms & Conditions.
